Changes, previews and approvals
Read-only until you say “yes.” Then exactly what you approved. Nothing more.
Updated
In short
Every account starts read-only. When you turn on changes for an ad profile, each change your AI proposes comes back as a dry-run preview of the exact payload. Nothing reaches Amazon until you confirm, each change is capped at 100 items, and every confirmed change is written to a change log you can export.
What can change, and what can't
| Area | Can WavyCloud change it? |
|---|---|
| Campaign state (enable, pause) and daily budget | Yes, with a preview and your confirmation |
| Keyword bids and product target bids | Yes, with a preview and your confirmation |
| Keyword state (enable, pause) | Yes, with a preview and your confirmation |
| Negative exact and negative phrase keywords | Yes, adds only, with a preview and your confirmation |
| Creating, deleting or renaming campaigns, ad groups or ads | No |
| Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display | No, not supported yet |
| Listings, prices, inventory, shipments | No. Seller Central access is read-only |
Step 1: allow changes for a profile
Every ad profile starts read-only. In WavyCloud, open the profile and turn on Allow changes. You can turn it off again at any time, and read-only profiles ignore write requests completely.
Step 2: ask for the change
Ask the way you'd brief a person. Be specific about the scope:
Ask your AI
Lower bids by 15% on keywords in the "Brand - Exact" campaign with ACoS above 40% over the last 30 days. Preview first.
Step 3: read the preview
Your AI app gets a dry-run result instead of a change. It shows exactly what would be sent to Amazon: every keyword or campaign, the old value and the new value. A good AI app shows this to you as a table. If yours doesn't, ask: “Show me the full preview.”
Check three things:
- Scope. Is it the campaigns and keywords you meant, and only those?
- Size. Are the new numbers sane? A bid of $0.20 instead of $2.00 is a typo you want to catch here.
- Count. Does the number of items match what you expected?
Step 4: confirm, or don't
Say “Confirm” and the AI repeats the call with confirm: true. Say anything else and nothing happens. There's no timer and no default yes.
The change log
Every confirmed change is recorded with the time, the profile, the items and their before and after values. Open Change log in WavyCloud to review it or export it as CSV for your records, your partner or your accountant.
Undoing a change
Amazon has no undo button, and neither do we. To roll back, ask your AI to set the values from the change log back, for example: “Set the bids changed this morning back to their previous values.” That's a new change, so you'll get a preview first.
Frequently asked questions
Can my AI app make changes while I'm not looking?
No. A change needs your explicit confirmation in the chat after you've seen the preview. Read-only profiles reject write calls entirely.
Do scheduled playbooks change things on their own?
No. Playbooks on Downpour and Monsoon propose changes, like a list of negatives to add, and deliver them as a preview for you to approve.
Why is there a 100-item cap?
So one confirmation can't reprice your whole account. It also keeps each preview short enough to actually read.
