25 AI prompts for Amazon sellers that use your real data
Generic prompts get generic answers. These ask about your numbers, with dates, thresholds and the shape of the answer spelled out.
Short answer
The best AI prompts for Amazon sellers name the date range, the marketplace, a threshold and the format of the answer, and ask the AI to show the numbers it used. They work best when your AI app is connected to live Amazon data through an MCP server, so it can pull reports instead of guessing.

How to write a prompt that works
Every prompt below follows the same five rules. Steal the rules and you can write your own:
- Name the dates. “Last 30 days” or “September 1 to 30.” Never “recently.”
- Name the marketplace if you sell in more than one.
- Set a threshold. “Spend over $20”, “fewer than 21 days of cover.”
- Say the shape. “A table sorted by spend, top 20.”
- Ask for receipts. “Show the numbers you used.” It keeps the AI honest and lets you check it.
These assume your AI app can read your Amazon data, for example through an MCP server. Without that, it can only guess.

Tips for better answers
- Start with a question you know the answer to. It's the fastest way to trust the setup.
- Follow up. “Why?” and “Show me the rows” are prompts too.
- Keep changes separate. Ask for analysis first, then ask for a change as a preview. Approve it only once you've read it.
- Save your favorites. On Downpour, the ones you ask every week can arrive by themselves as scheduled reports.
Frequently asked questions
Do these prompts work in ChatGPT without a connector?
They'll run, but without access to your Amazon data the AI can only give general advice or ask you to paste exports. Connected to live data through an MCP server, the same prompts return answers from your actual numbers.
What is the best AI for Amazon sellers?
The one you already use, as long as it supports custom connectors or remote MCP servers. Claude and ChatGPT both do on eligible plans, and so do Cursor, VS Code and n8n.
Can AI change my bids or campaigns from a prompt?
Only if the connector allows it. With WavyCloud, accounts start read-only, and when you allow changes, each one comes back as a preview that you confirm before anything reaches Amazon.
